Nine Americans Confirmed Dead in Palestinian Invasion of Israel

A spokesperson for the US National Security Council confirmed Monday morning that at least nine Americans were slain in the outbreak of fighting in Israel.

“At this time, we can confirm the death of nine U.S. citizens,” a National Security Council spokesman said. “We extend our deepest condolences to the victims and to the families of all those affected, and wish those injured a speedy recovery.”

Officials disclosed no information regarding their deaths, including their identities or the location of their deaths.

US citizens have moved to Israel in ever greater numbers in recent years, and have chosen to reside in settlements more often than others, according to the Times of Israel. The Times reported that at least 4,000 Americans migrated to Israel in 2021, the highest number since the 1970s.

It is estimated that approximately 200,000 Americans reside in Israel, with close to a million visiting annually.

In the first two days of combat that followed a massive, coordinated attack by Hamas terrorists on Israel, at least 1,300 people have been killed. The attack was a coordinated assault of artillery rockets, drone attacks on border posts and Israeli forces, and squads of heavily armed terrorists intent on massacring civilians.

At least 200 partygoers were discovered deceased at the Tribe of Nova music festival, which appears to have been attacked in one instance. There are numerous accounts of Israeli civilians hiding in their residences while death squads went door-to-door searching for victims. Additionally, kidnapping appears to have been prevalent.

Israel’s military, which is primarily funded and supplied by the United States, mobilized over 100,000 reserves over the weekend and went to war. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) jets and helicopters bombarded Gaza targets over the weekend, as missiles were fired from the Palestinian territory into Israel.

The U.S. Navy is deploying warships to the Middle East in what officials say is a “show of support” for Israel in its military response to a Hamas surprise attack on Saturday.

The United States is also considering plans for a potential noncombatant evacuation, which would assist American citizens in leaving Israel.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken indicated on Sunday morning that Americans may have been slain in the Hamas-led invasion of Israel.

“We have reports that several Americans may be among the dead,” he said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Meanwhile, naval forces are attempting to deliver an unsubtle warning to Iran about hijacking commercial ships, mining shipping lanes, and disrupting the flow of oil out of the Middle East, which would inevitably lead to an increase in global fuel prices at a time when the Biden administration has exhausted its strategic reserve to stabilize prices ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

On Monday morning, President Joe Biden, rather than addressing the American people about an escalating war in the Middle East, in addition to the stalled proxy war in Europe, called a lid.
