Wat Pho ‘Temple of the Reclining Buddha’ Bangkok
Wat Pho is one of Bangkok’s – and indeed Thailand’s – most famed temples. Named after a monastery in India where Buddha is believed to have lived, the temple is located in the Rattanakosin district near the Grand Palace and is home to more than a thousand Buddha images. The 160 ft long Reclining Buddha is housed here, hence Wat Pho is also popularly known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha.
