Hamas Blames Israel for Horrific Gaza Hospital Bombing, IDF Blames Islamic Jihad

Hamas blames Israel for the horrific hospital bombing in Gaza, while the IDF blames Islamic Jihad.

Tuesday’s bombardment of a Gaza hospital reportedly resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians, with Hamas-affiliated officials and the Israeli Defense Forces each blaming the other for the attack.

CNN’s Jake Tapper reported the news, stating that the IDF “just a few minutes ago said that it was actually a misfired missile by Islamic Jihad, a group in Gaza.”

“CNN reports thousands of others were taking shelter at the hospital at the center of Gaza City. The Palestinian Health Ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, blamed the incident on an Israeli airstrike. But the Israeli Defense Forces just seconds ago on its Telegram channel, announced that the strike was caused by this misfired missile from Islamic Jihad. CNN has not independently confirmed this.”

According to Reuters, the health minister of the Hamas-controlled government of Gaza, Mai Alkaila, accused Israel of committing a genocide. A civil defense official in Gaza estimated 300 deaths, while a health ministry official estimated 500 deaths.

As of the publication of this article, the precise death toll at the hospital is unknown, but the incident appears to be the single deadliest in Gaza during the conflict.

“Following an analysis by the IDF’s operational systems, a barrage of rockets was launched toward Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital, when it was hit,” said the IDF statement, adding:

According to intelligence information from a number of sources we have, Islamic Jihad terrorist organization is responsible for the failed rocket launch that hit the hospital.

The initial information regarding the hospital assault was obscured by a plethora of deceptive online propaganda.

The New York Times was quick to blame Israel.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) of the Pro-Palestinian “Squad” was quick to seize on unconfirmed reports to accuse Israel of potential “war crimes.”

Omar also called for an immediate ceasefire.

There were reports alleging to show a failed launch of a Hamas rocket, but that proved to actually be from older video that was shared in 2022, among other examples.

But Curtis Houch of the Media Research Center cited an IDF spokesperson who cautioned the world to exercise caution before taking Hamas’ word for it.

“[A]nything said by Hamas should be taken with extreme caution and skepticism, and I urge all journalists to be very careful when they report what Hamas says and when they base reporting on those events. What I can say is that we have analyzed various sources of intelligence and systems and the information that we have, which has been confirmed by the highest levels in the IDF is the following: ‘We are aware of a barrage of rockets that was fired by terrorists from Gaza towards Israel and that passed in close proximity to that hospital in Gaza at the time that it was hit. The intelligence that we have from multiple sources is — it indicates that the Islamic Jihad, another terrorist organization in Gaza, is responsible for a failed rocket launch that struck the hospital in Gaza.”

A BBC journalist, however, said that it had to be Israel that committed the atrocity.

The propaganda war is burning hot. It is best that citizens remains cautiously skeptical about reports and wait for further confirmation before jumping to conclusions.
