A Lebanese TV anchor reportedly broke down live on air while announcing the news of Hezbollah chief Syed Hassan Nasrallah’s death. A purported video of the incident also went viral on social media.
Beirut: Hezbollah leader Syed Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Lebanon’s Beirut. A purported video of a Lebanese television news anchor breaking down live on air while announcing the death of Nasrallah also surfaced on social and soon went viral. In the video, the TV anchor who was believed to be associated with the Hezbollah-affiliated media network, Al Mayadeen, was struggling to find words to announce the Hezbollah leader’s death. The anchor’s voice was cracking as she read the news.
Nasrallah had led Hezbollah since 1990s. Hours after Israeli Defence Forces claimed that the Hezbollah leader was killed in the airstrike, the militant group also issued a statement confirming his death.

“His Eminence, the Master of Resistance, the righteous servant, has passed away to be with his Lord and to be pleased with Him as a great martyr, a heroic, bold, brave, wise, insightful, and faithful leader, joining the caravan of martyrs of the eternal, luminous Karbala in the divine path of faith in the footsteps of the prophets and imams Martyrs,” Hezbollah said.
The militant group also said that it would continue to fight for the people of Palestine. “His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah, has joined his great immortal martyr comrades, whose path he led for nearly thirty years, leading them from victory to victory, succeeding the Master of the Martyrs of the Islamic Resistance in 1992 until the liberation of Lebanon in 2000 and to the glorious divine victory in 2006 and all the battles of honor and sacrifice, arriving at the battle of support and heroism in support of Palestine, Gaza and the oppressed Palestinian people,” it added.
IDF fighter jets struck Nasrallah’s hideout at Hezbollah’s headquarters in Beirut after getting his precise intelligence from the IDF and Israeli security establishment, the IDF said in a statement. “The strike was conducted while Hezbollah’s senior chain of command were operating from the headquarters and advancing terrorist activities against the citizens of the State of Israel,” the IDF said confirming Nasrallah’s death.
Nasrallah had a significant influence in Lebanon, particularly among his Shiite supporters, and was viewed as a key figure in both waging war and brokering peace.
Iran’s supreme leader issued a statement on the ongoing Lebanon situation after Israel’s offensive against the militant group Hezbollah. Calling Israel, a terrorist regime”, Iran’s supreme Leader said, “The terrorist gang ruling Zionist regime hasn’t learned from its 1yr criminal war in Gaza & doesn’t understand the massacre of women, children, & civilians cannot hurt strong structure of Resistance or bring it to its knees. Now they’re testing the same absurd policy in Lebanon.”
Khamenei added that Israel is took weak to inflict significant damage on Hezbollah. “The Zionist criminals need to know that they are far too weak to be able to inflict any significant damage on the solid structure of Lebanon’s Hezbollah,” Iran’s supreme leader stated.
